AI Agents Will Define 2025

Dear Friends,

As we close out the year, I want to extend my warmest wishes to all of you. The holidays are a time for reflection, and as I look back over the past year, I’m amazed at how much we've accomplished in the realm of AI.

Just this year, the landscape of artificial intelligence has evolved rapidly, and its impact is undeniable. Practical use cases for AI, especially through large language models, have become more accessible and affordable. The decrease in costs and the advancements in generative AI have opened up very exciting possibilities for builders and businesses.

Growing Pentridge Media, I’ve experienced firsthand how AI and Automation can streamline processes, from setting up CRM systems and automating workflows, to building voice agents and rapidly prototyping software. Going into 2025, we look forward to continuing to implement systems for businesses looking to become and remain competitive in the marketplace.

The Speed of Change

This year has been driven by the breakneck speed of AI advancements. In February, I put out a letter called “We Are All Now Programmers,” inspired by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang’s panel at the World Government Summit, where he stated that for the first time we can imagine everyone in our organizations as being technologists. Watch here.

At the time I was getting deep into no-code solutions with platforms like Bubble, but the progress since then with AI when in comes to software development is staggering. What started with Anthropic Claude’s release of Sonnet 3.5 proving to be proficient at generating code through prompting, has translated to a whole budding movement of programming with natural language by way of platforms like Cursor, Replit, Bolt, Lovable (which by the way currently stands as the fastest-growing startup in Europe, ‘ever’), and others. Whether you’re a seasoned developer or a non-technical creator, these tools empower you to build everything from simple to full-stack applications, and it’s clear that over the next few years composing software will become as commonplace as creating content.

2025: The Year of AI Agents

AI agents are on the rise, with 2025 set to be their breakout year. Frameworks like Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol, which provides Multi-Modal AI with the capability to control your browser and take multi-step actions on your behalf provide a glimpse into what the near futures holds. So does the rate of development with state of the art LLMs, like the recently announced GPT o3, said to perform at the level of the 175th best human competitive coder in the world, or

Gemini’s Realtime stream feature that lets you Interact with voice, video or screen share, ‘or’ the thousands of open-sources AI-models being built collaboratively.

Crypto Meets AI

The convergence of crypto and AI has been fascinating. Starting with the deployment of the semi-autonomous crypto bot, Truth Terminal, built on Meta’s Open Source Llama 3.1 LLM. Truth Terminal became the first AI crypto millionaire (an AI became a millionaire 🤔), after endorsing the $GOAT meme coin and attracting millions in donations to its crypto wallet. The AI Crypto space has quickly evolved now into more serious utility-driven, tokenized AI Agents. Agent platforms like Virtuals and ai16z are leading this narrative, enabling the development and deployment of “agents on chain.” Ai16z are the builders of the Eliza framework for developing AI Agents and just last week announced a partnership with Stanford to research AI Agent infrastructure. Ai16z, as I type, is also trending as the #1 coding repository on github. Then you have projects like aixbt demonstrating the potential of combining crypto with AI tooling. Aixbt is a tokenized AI Agent managing a X/Twitter account that grew to over 100k followers in under a month, captured an impressive amount of attention on X/Twitter and provided some of the best value in terms of crypto market analysis during this season.

On our end, we’ve launched Project Adzo, a brand being developed as part of a mission to help on board the masses to AI, Crypto and Investing, while exploring the concept of what it means and looks like to develop an Autonomous AI Agent-Influencer. As we go into 2025, I’m happy to announce that we are starting The Pentridge Club, a community for Entrepreneurs, Creators, Professionals and Students to connect and explore AI, emerging technologies, and investing.
