This Isn't Hype Anymore

How AI tools are reshaping what it means to build, work, and create

It was August 23rd, the night before the InvestFest Conference in Atlanta, when I burst into the room where my business partner — who was staying with me at the time — was sitting down.

“YOU’RE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE WHAT I JUST DID.”

Claude had just released Sonnet 3.5, and I was deep in the weeds, tinkering. I’d started generating actual, working code using AI — spinning up web apps and websites, quickly, through prompts and the coding environment Replit.

Sure, there were bugs. Plenty of errors. But the implications were undeniable. Something fundamental had shifted.

At InvestFest, I made it a point to ask other builders if they were exploring this space. Most weren’t — it was still early. But I could feel something brewing.

Fast-forward seven months. I’m scrolling through Twitter late one night when I see Andrej Karpathy drop the term “vibe coding” — as a label to describe this budding concept of building software with AI. And it actually stuck. To where now courses are being offered, and even news broadcasters are referencing terms like “vibe marketing” as an offshoot of this new creative wave.

The landscape has changed.

The CEO of Anthropic recently said that within five months, 90% of code will be AI-generated — and within a year, that number could hit 100%.

Is it still worth learning to code? That’s up for debate. But what I can say is this: mastering AI tools provides a level of leverage that traditional learning alone just doesn’t match anymore.

And this is across the board:

  • You can create high-level ad creative and content assets with ChatGPT 4o’s new image capabilities.

  • You can generate McKinsey-grade briefs with Google Deep Research, scanning hundreds of articles in minutes.

  • You can use general-use browser agents like Convergence that will scour the web, log into your applications, and execute routine tasks — or use Manus AI to structure campaigns and strategy.

  • You can spin up prototypes fast with Lovable, Cursor or Google’s new Firebase Studio, cutting build time dramatically.

  • You can put together automated — now evolving into AI workflows — with Make and N8n to remove bottlenecks from your operations and scale your business.

The pace of change is unbelievable — and the updates over the next few months are only going to accelerate.
